The majority of my experience teaching is teaching children with special needs including many children with autism. I am a very patient listener and think that I empathize well with everyone. While student teaching I learned to pay attention to all of the students in a very diverse student body. I chose texts from a variety of backgrounds- the multicultural approach was both ideal and necessary in that setting. I then emphasized the similarities between the texts and the need for standardization in language use. One method which succeeded was my attempt to improve the students' vocabularies by breaking words into their most basic components; they learned to define words which they might not otherwise have recognized. As in the study of math, the key to studying language is to simplify.

I provide enough background information on the subject matters first, give a big picture of the subject matters and then break things apart and teach them parts. This methodology has always been effective because students find it easier to learn all the necessary ingredients in order to grasp the big topic. I always make sure students are given enough practice questions on subjects like calculus, physics and chemistry.
My experience as a tutor during my school years has taught me that students have hard time on subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Calculus and Biology, not because they didn't have good instructors, but because students were not provided enough background information on various topics. I have always employed a fun-filled curious environment to my students which have helped them come up with more questions and instill passion on the subject matters.
