Tanupreet K. - San Marcos, CA 92069 (11.1 mi) - Electrical Engineering Tutor - $37.50/hr.
Practical teching is preferred as it allows the student to grasp real world knowledge of the subject I have worked as a SOlar Design Engineer with HBL Power SYstems Limited for 1 year and as Proposal Estimator with Honeywell International for 2 years
Apart from that i have taught as a Tutor for almost 8 years and have hands on experience of teaching elementary, middle , high school and undergrad students.

I worked as a math tutor as a student worker during my last 3 years of college while working on my BS in Computer Science until 2004. I had previously studied at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and had an extensive background in Math.
I taught at a Catholic High School, Messmer, for one year after graduation until 2005, before returning to ITT as an adjunct instructor. I became a fulltime Math tutor 2 years ago and hold that position today. I have instituted weekly study groups in 6 subjects, math reviews for incoming students, and bridge classes for students going to the next level of math as a skill check and review. Most of my students are at-risk or attention deficit students, so I employ a style where I emphasize a good set of basic skills and knowing why we use the techniques we utilize. Most of my methods are visual and I emphasize laying down the structure of the soluti

Raymond C - San Diego, CA 92109 (12.1 mi) - Electrical Engineering Tutor - $49.00/hr.
I am an Electrical Engineer who served 6 years on active duty in the Navy. I have worked as a tutor at the Naval School of Health Sciences, during that time providing tutoring assistance to other service members. I have also worked in a Hospital for 14+ years where I have trained numerous students in Pharmaceutical Calculations. I have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering as of December 2006 and I have recently become certified as an Engineer in Training. I have taken courses in College Algebra I & 2, Calculus 1-3, Chemistry, Physics and Differential Equations. I have a vast knowledge base of Math and Science as well as an ability to simplify complex problems that make learning Mathematics more understandable and enjoyable. I enjoy working with students and helping them achieve their goals in School. I have experienced the difficulties first hand of learning difficult and complex

With respect to my teaching style, I liken it to a series of books written by Isaac Asimov entitled, Understanding Physics. These books have little math but explain the physical concepts in a story-like fashion. I find this very important because many physics books and instructors put too much emphasis on the mathematics and not enough on conveying the physical concepts. The result is a student who is unable to solve physics problems. First, the student must know the physical concept which then enables them to apply the correct mathematics in order to solve the problem. Mathematics is an art in itself but is simply a tool to solve physics problems. Instructed all physics laboratories at San Diego State University for calculus and non-calculus based physics courses. These courses included: Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Modern Physics.

Antonio F - San Diego, CA 92119 (16.4 mi) - Electrical Engineering Tutor - $48.50/hr.
I finished my lower division coursework at a california community college (AHC) and earned a total of six associate degrees. While at the community college, I administered practice test for students in MESA in mathematics (Calculus 1,2,3, and 4) while also working the maximum of 20 hours a week in the campus math lab (walk-in tutoring). Furthermore, I attended and graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in physics and a minor in mathematics and finished the necessary coursework to apply to all medical school programs in to the country. I tutored for side money while attending UCLA. Currently, I'm a graduate student at SDSU. I'm two courses and a Master's thesis away from receiving my Master's degree in Physics. I prefer to approach every student very slowly in the beginning to understand exactly where their trouble are. Listening is the most important attribute that a tutor can have

Eric C - Temecula, CA 92592 (32.1 mi) - Electrical Engineering Tutor - $49.50/hr.
I love to teach high school students and adults that might be struggling. I know they have the ability to learn but each in a unique way. I am hands-on, patient, kind, laid back and even a little unconventional. My goal is to reach into the students strengths and help them bolster their weaknesses through discovery. I feel that just a few moments of discovery will greatly boost confidence and lead to a better student. While completing a degree in Survey Engineering I was picked by two professors to teach in their absence and also lead labs. The situations ranged from one-on-one to outdoor labs and from the classroom to small groups.
As a manager of engineering departments at four consulting firms opportunities arose to tutor numerous individuals in both classroom and field settings and the topics were applied math involving physics, algebra, calculus and geometry.
