My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : Certified in the Wilson Language Program,2001, a reading program that is designed to teach reading skills to students with Dyslexia and other language processing difficulties. I have successfully taught from this program for 10 years (including summer programs)to students from 3rd-12th grade.

I teach according to the style that best works for the child, and I take the first couple of tutoring sessions to figure out a child's strengths, weaknesses, interests, and most effective learning style. Regardless of style, however, I believe that a multisensory approach to teaching is best for a child, as it allows teachers to tap into areas of strength of which the student may not be aware.
