LEARN THE GUITAR BY WITHOUT (FIRST) LEARNING TO READ MUSIC!

My Approach To Teaching Guitar... At the early age of 14, I discovered that I had a “knack” for music when I had the opportunity for a friend to show me how to play a few basic chords on his guitar (because I didn’t own one myself). Although press- ing down on the strings hurt my fingertips, and my fingers kept slipping out of position, I fell in love with the guitar’s sound when it all finally came together... Eventually, my mother bought me my first guitar! After time continued to pass, I discovered that what was allowing me to get deeper involved with the guitar was that I was developing an “ear”or “feel” for music which simply means when I heard music, I was able to figure out how to play what I heard - the chord structure, the rhythm, the melody - all without reading music! A Little Bit About Me...

?I have played the Guitar for over 45 years. Although there was a time I did not play For several years During the first years of marriage. Graduated from high school. I took some lessons at the age of 13 then taught myself how to play the guitar on my own by just Listening to a song ,or chord progressions or a lead . My inspirations were, The Beatles,Beach Boys, Chet atkins, George Harrison, Clapton, jimmy page, B.B king, Moody blues, Wes Montgomery. And really many many more. I basically took all of the guitarist I learned from , Like, Harrison Clapton, etc. and developed my own style of playing. I play by ear, and teach to play by ear. I teach at a local music store in McDonough On Saturdays and a few in-home students on the weekend also.
