I am a second year UW Madison student pursuing a math degree. I have completed Calculus 1, Calculus 222, Calculus 234, Calculus 3 based engineering statistics, and Actuarial Science (a class designed to prepare actuarial students for the P exam). Next semester I will take Linear Algebra and the Basic Concepts of Math. I enjoy working with young people very much, and I have an intense passion for math, so I have chosen to pursue a career in Math education. During my freshman year at UW Madison, I volunteered weekly at Sennett Middle School to tutor students in math and science. It was exciting to watch these young students improve their knowledge and skills.

I am not a teacher, but I like to think that I can help out in a way that the student or person I am tutoring will learn. I love working with people, and anyway that I can help them learn better makes me feel better. I have children of my own and help them out with school work. I feel that they need to do the work in order to learn the best. Education is very important in everyones lives now that helping out would make me feel good about myself, that I am making a difference.
While I was a student at the College of Menominee Nation I was a tutor in the accounting and math areas. I am also very good with computers. I have been out of school for a few years, but I am always willing to help out anyone who had a question, and If I can help them out it's all the better.

A Little Bit About Me...

I volunteered for the Special Olympics and for the D.A.R.E program from Elementary students back in 2003 and 2008. With the Special Olympics, I helped cook and serve food to the contestants in the olympics and I also was there to be a friendly and supportive coach-assistant to the athletes. With the D.A.R.E program, I went to Elementary schools in the town of Faribault MN, and I worked along side with the police department to show and educate kids the dangers of meeting strangers and how to handle that type of situation.
I don't have a wide teaching experience but I do enjoy working and helping Elementary or junior high leveled children. Ay my most recent job, I worked in a dept called 'PLAYLAND" where I was responsible for taking care and keeping the children of our customers entertained and busy as their parent's shopped for groceries. I have been learning everyday of my life, because there is always something new to learn. Life teaches many lessons but what I have come to learn is that education is very valuable. I want to give back to the community by helping others learn of all opportunities that a good education can bring them. I continue to educate myself by attending workshops, seminars and many life learning classes. In high school, I tutored my fellow students in various math courses.
