I have taught Genetics at University of Nebraska Omaha and been a lab instructor for general biology and Microbiology during my PhD program at UNL. Currently I am a Post Doctoral Research Assistant/Lab Manager at UNL and I am co-mentoring 6 graduate students and 2 undergraduate students. In the past I have tutored many students in subjects ranging from Algebra to Biology to Graduate Level Cell Biology Classes. My teaching style focuses on making sure students understand the bigger picture and not just memorizing a few facts. I work hard to make problems and tests less intimating and ease students stress levels when working with them. I am easygoing, but enjoy challenging my students to do well. I always try to be prepared and make sure that I am familiar with the material before any tutoring sessions. I am not concerned with time and feel that if it does take longer than the hour assigned to completely help the student understand the material, then I am more than willing to put in extra time to help them. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2008 and am now almost done with my Master's in Biomedical Sciences. I was a laboratory teaching assistant for two years and a math tutor in the Creighton University Math Department for 2 years. I also did some private math tutoring for the undergraduates in Calculus I as well.

I have always been interested in science and using that science to benefit humanity. In college I pursued a bachelor degree in Biology and was president of molecular/mircobiology club and was an anatomy, organic chemistry, and physics tutor. As an undergraduate I was able to be involved in forensic DNA research. After graduating I entered medical school where I have pursued research interests in pediatric infectious diseases, and middle ear dysfunction. In medical school I tutored students in pathology and pharmacology. My passions are teaching and patient care. I have a teaching style that is very adaptive to any individual. I am very patient and understanding that multiple approachs to grasp a subject may need to happen. I try to base all knowledge around concepts instead of rogue memorizing.
