My experience tutoring started with young age non english speaking children and continued to escalate during college. I have an Associates degree as a Community Spanish Interpreter. I like to have people learn the basic vocabulary and then have my students learn how to pronounce and recognize the sound of the words when spoken. I also like to combine what I call community survival Spanish skills in every lesson that enables my students to communicate in a very short period of time. Spanish is one of my top subjects! I have worked within the local Latino community for fifteen years as a volunteer at Amigos International and am a Cum Laude Graduate from the Spanish program at UNCW.

My teaching style is quite flexible. I am a big fan of using subtitled videos to acclimate the ear to picking out certain words, as well as conversing and following the criteria set out by the instructor.
I have been a local advocate in the Latino community for most of my adult life. I have tutored underclassmen at UNCW, helping with both their written and spoken Spanish, as well as directed private tutoring sessions from my home or a communal area.
