I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective. The latter mentioned characteristics has always been viewed by me as the hallmarks of tutoring. I believe that all children have the ability to learn effectively. It is just a matter of understanding how that child specifically learns best, is how to provide the best possible teaching method. If the child is surrounded by positivity throughout their education as well as constructive criticism, the child will understand their potential and move forward.
As a recent college graduate, I was driven to study engineering and music to create a balanced lifestyle. I have earned a bachelor of science with a major in engineering science and a minor in music. The ability to counteract my math and science studies with the arts is beneficial for the body and mind. My off-campus work-study job during my college career included tutoring at an after school program for children in elementary school to middle school in the subjects of math, science, and english.
