I have a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from a well-known university in the U.S. I have about 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese on the college level. This includes elementary and intermediate levels, conversation, composition, literature, culture, film and medical Spanish. I also enjoy tutoring younger students. I lived in Brazil and have traveled extensively all over Latin America, Spain and Portugal. I am a native speaker of English and would enjoy tutoring ESL again. I received my Early Childhood Degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL. I started teaching thereafter. I have taught young children for 4 1/2 years. In addition to teaching I tutored children after school for Title I Reading/Math through Springfield School District. I tutored 4 days a week Monday-Thursday for 1 hour. Right now I am planning on going back to school to get my special ed endorsement and eventually my Master's Degree in Special Ed. I would also love to get a degree in Social Work. Those are my future plans.
