Given the right atmosphere, I honestly believe anyone can learn. Unfortunately, many individuals are given labels, especially regarding their learning capacity, and once that belief system is in place, the expectations are often lowered and self-esteem suffers. I believe in positive encouragement and support, while working through difficulties with a 'can do' attitude on my part which then becomes, with reinforcement and consistency, the belief of the child. When I was working as a secretary I knew I wanted to further my education. I returned to school and completed my bachelor of science in education. As a classroom teacher I realized the many problems my students had to deal with. This prompted my to complete my master in school counseling. I have attended several workshops throughout my career to enchance my teaching and counseling methods with Reading, Writing and Grammar for students of any age.
I love working with students. As a teacher I enjoy the learning process and love watching the students discover new concepts and ideas.
