A Little Bit About Me...

My experience in tutoring, substitute teaching, and being an elementary classroom teacher for over one year, my teaching experiences have helped me to instruct students in their learning endeavors. Also, through my love for writing and working on a book along with having an appetite for reading, these additional experiences have also helped me in instructing students in learning. Also I volunteered as a tutor in my local community and developing a summer reading program for our local library.

I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education which has enabled me to learn a lot about Elementary curriculum as well as the skills and strategies used to teach elementary children. Throughout my education experience at Marshall I participated in many different practicum classes where I taught and tutored children in a variety of subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that learning is best achieved in a comfortable, nothreatening enviroment. People learn best when they understand the importance of the material being taught, something I strive to convey to my students. While I can easily teach a didactic lecturing style, I feel that an interactive approach often better meets the needs of the students. Ultimately, education is a reflection of the students success and the teacher is merely a means to that end.
My experience in teaching is broad and varied. I have taught medical students, other physicians, technologists, as well as teaching at military facilities. In additiom, I have two school age children myself and I believe that I am their primary teacher. This varied teaching experience allows me to tailor my teaching methods to the students and has allowed me to gain a great fund of knowledge.
