My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. Some are visual learners, others are audio learners, and still others are a combination. I work well one-on-one but also enjoy small groups. As a recent graduate, I was highly motivated to achieve a level of quality in every aspect of my educational experience. I have earned my Associates degree in Computer Science and working on my BS in Computer Science, which has allowed me to gain an understanding in many areas, including math, science, communication, and English to name a few. During the last year I have tutored students in English, mathematics, and Spanish. I love teaching and helping others learn. I feel that anyone can learn, they just need to figure out what is the best way for them. I am easy to get along with, I love to help others. I have always been interested in tutoring and helping students learn. In high school I tutored elementary students and high school students who were struggling with a variety of subjects. I was an advanced academic student throughout high school. In college I spent time tutoring other college students in my classes to help them understand the new material. I currently am tutoring students (Range: middle school through college) in math, science and other subjects. I have a vast knowledge of different subjects which I have studied throughout my education along with the skills I have achieved in my career. I believe that every student can successfully learn different subjects if the material is presented to them in a way they can understand.
