My comments on tutoring Drawing : I teach the essentials of drawing - including some totally fun ways to "cheat!" I will teach what you want, or teach my course of various styles and methods to give you hands-on experience with a variety of media and techniques. Of course, you must supply all your own art supplies.

I try to do some explication, and then have the student try some exercises or venture out on their own. In the cases of multiple sessions, I DO assign homefun (as opposed to homework), so that the student will have some experience when next we meet.
I am an experienced graphic and web designer. But in college I thought I was going to be either an English or History Professor, or an Attorney. That's why I studied lots of his History, English, and took the pre-law major Philosophy. I have several year of post-graduate classes as well. I started teaching Graphic Design in 2002, and brought into that Web Design, along with the skills that accompany them - HTML and CSS. I have even designed signs, and love it!

A Little Bit About Me...

Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others. ."creative" refers to novel products of value, as in "The airplane was a creative invention." "Creative" also refers to the person who produces the work, as in, ?Picasso was creative." "Creativity," then refers both to the capacity to produce such works, as in "How can we foster our employees' creativity?" and to the activity of generating such products, as in "Creativity requires hard work." (page 4) All who study creativity agree that for something to be creative, it is not enough for it to be novel: it must have value, or be appropriate to the cognitive demands of the situation.

My focus is helping students understand how to aptly address course assignments, how to structure and assemble essays, term papers and research papers and how to decipher themes and motifs in classic readings for assigned papers. My method is to guide students to becoming skilled writers through the editing process and use of an explanatory narrative. Another important component is trust and teamwork. Once students know you have their best interest at heart, trust is built. In a one-to-one situation, a teacher must emphasize teamwork.
