My comments on tutoring Biology : BS Biology and held NC teaching certificate for 4 years prior to changing fields. Worked in college as a laboratory assistant for three years.

Served over three years as laboratory assistant while attending Greensboro College. Duties included teaching small groups as well as entire laboratory on occasion. Student teaching included upper level Biology and Anatomy courses as well as General Biology at Eastern Randolf High School. Taught general science for four years at the Juvenile Evaluation Center in Swannanoa, NC. Transitioned careers to Medical Laboratory technology for over 12 years. My comments on tutoring Biology : I am able to help with homework up to a high school level.

I am a very hands-on teacher. I try to help students by showing them how it is done and then letting them practice.
I have experience in all of the fields that are listed. Most of the skills I have acquired were either through learning them during my time at school or through doing personal research because they interested me. I have done some tutoring in the computer/i.t field as a side job. Chess has been one of my favorite things to learn. My experience with chess has been a regional tournament where I made it to the last-round of the semi-finals.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in being hands on and visual, many students have problems in math and science because they are unable to visualize the words written in their books. I am extremly organized so that my time is best spent on the most difficult areas for each individual student.

A Little Bit About Me...

My most recent job was as a nursery caregiver at a church, where I was also a teaching assistant for Bible study. I enjoyed working with the children and trying to understand their unique learning styles. While tutoring classmates in physiology, I found it important to repeat topics, but change the context so that the student is not bored and also understands versus memorizes the material.
