I believe in diversity in teaching styles because each student is unique and each has different abilities in various areas. After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. In addition to completing accounting courses for my B.S. in Accounting, I completed two courses in Child Development and Education, and all college level math courses through Calculus. I have tutored students in math since 1989. At Juniper Elementary in Bend, OR, I was a Good News Club teacher and volunteered as a reading specialist working to improve reading skills of struggling students. I also teach music lessons, group and individual. I received teacher training through CEF. I am patient and comfortable explaining things multiple times and in multiple ways. I believe I have the creativity to help any student find a way to make sense of his or her material. I excel in English, Science, and Psychology. I have been tutoring for five years and homeschool my 8-year-old stepdaughter.
