I have been immersed the field of interpreting since 2008. Having graduated out of Bloomsburg University in 2012, over the last two years I have been professionally interpreting in three states and in various fields. My work ranges from public school classes, college lectures, medical appointments, religious sermons, platform events and government assignments. Regularly, I attend different workshops and Deaf events around the community to keep up with my skills and to continue learning the ever changing language of ASL.
Start with the basics. Assess what level the student is at and then work that into a more challenging structure to pertain to what the student would like to accomplish.

After graduating cum laude with a BA in Mathematics, BS in Meteorology, Physics minor, and Secondary Education certification, I went straight into teaching. I would want each student in my classroom to feel wanted and feel a sense of their identity present even when they leave the classroom. Each student should be given attention. To understand what they feel and how they react to the material being presented to them is very important to me. I would encourage students to learn and let their views be heard. Classroom discussions and debates can be great tools when you want students to become active and to voice out opinions. I greatly enjoy finding a way to inspire a child to understand the problem at hand.
