Let the young teach the young

Even though I am young, I do know how to convey teaching skills with the "up-to-date" mind set of today's generation. The main experience I have is helping fellow school mates and family with the problems they are having with school work. I did finish high school with a diploma. Pre-Algebra is one of my top subjects! I helped two 6th grade classes learn pre-algebra. Many times I would have to come up with a different way of explaining what the teacher said, so the students could understand what they needed to do.

Some children just need a new way of looking at something to understand it. Children might also need just little more time to understand something that schools just don't have the time to give. I am patient, caring and I can think outside the box if a student needs a new way to look at a problem.

I have always wanted to teach. While in high school, I spent half of my school day being a teacher's assistance at an elementary school. I started my college experience at Adams State College in the Education department. During my initial years in college, I completed multiple teaching courses including: Intro to Education, Teaching Exceptional Students in a Regular Classroom, and Child Development. As a classroom teacher I quickly learned to engage each student individually. I prefer tutoring because I can tailor my instruction to a specific student. Children have different learning styles so it is my responsibility as the instructor to adapt lessons to maximize learning for each child.
