I worked first hand with professor and teaching assistant and have learned what they are looking for. I believe in teaching concepts and helping students fully understand ideals rather than students just memorizing facts. This way no matter what the professor asks they will know how to answer questions and ace exams. If they just memorize things, they can get confused and get answers distorted. I believe in hands on learning and teaching. I would make "Jeopardy" games to quiz students and also have fun at the same time. After finishing my PhD I went to work for Monsanto as an organic analytical chemist. My speciality was the use of mass spectrometry to understand organic chemical reactions and the products and impurities that were formed. While working for Monsanto I also taught College chemistry classes (Organic I and II and the labs). I have over forty publications and forty presentations. I am the author of two books on Organic Analytical Chemistry. I was also honored by being appointed a Science Fellow in Monsanto. At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga I received an excellent education where I got my BA in History with a minor in Sociology. There I was taught by excellent professors who instilled in me passions for history, sociology, and intellectual discussion. I also wrote many papers which have given me good grammatical skills.
