I obtained a strong liberal arts education where I was able to experience and learn about a wide range of academic topics. However, I have a strong focus and specialization in the sciences with a BA in both Biology and Chemistry with a Mathematics minor. My teaching style is entirely dependent on who I'm teaching. I try to prod and ask leading questions, while also looking for how it is I can relate the subject matter to the student. I consider it a failure of mine if I am ever forced to recommend a student memorizes something that they ought to understand on a deeper level.
