Since graduating in 1999 from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis with a Masters in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration, I have worked extensively in Accounting Management and administration. I am very knowledgeable in the full-cycle accounting functions necessary to hold a job as an Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, Accountant, and Bookkeeper. I have learned many Accounting Software packages and can produce and analyze financial statements. I am scheduled to take one section of the CPA exam this month with the goal of taking the other three parts within the next 18 months. A Little Bit About Me...

This past year I graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College with a Bachelor’s in History and Medieval Studies. I have studied abroad at Oxford University, and in Rome and Romania, and have a lot of experience in writing research reports and essays. As a student of the liberal arts I have studied a wide variety of subjects, from theology to environmental science, from Old English to statistics and am comfortable in almost any subject. During this past academic year I tutored a home schooled child one on one several hours a week in world history and research methodology; I was in effect his sole teacher in the subject and also helped him improve his writing and study skills. For the past four years I have taught chess to children aged six to ten, emphasizing analytical skills.

I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented.
