I stopped working in the hospitals when my oldest child reached the age of 5, so that I could teach my children at home. The four of them are now grown and successful. I employed many techniques during my time homeschooling them, as between them were exhibited several learning styles. It was a delightful experience.

Creative Writing is one of my top subjects!

All throughout high school I tutored younger kids with homework or specific needs in classes. I'm very flexible and very hands-on with my teaching. As a visual learner, it helps me to have a visual aid whenever I can and I employ that in my teaching. My strategy is to make learning fun for the students. If I can't enjoy what I'm learning, then I won't learn it and as such I strive to make whatever I'm teaching enjoyable for the student.

I have worked with fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in preparing them for MCT tests and exit exams. I have tutored in elementary english, math and computer. My teaching style totally depends on my student. Every one has a different learning style, and I try to be adaptable. I believe you must create a relaxed and and supportive atmosphere for the learner. Projecting a sense of confidence in the student goes a long way towards helping him/her achieve his/her educational goal. Lots of time the student has the skills but is not sure enough of himself/herself to proceed. I am just the prompter. I really enjoy sharing in the learning process and especially relish the moment when the student discovers his ability to learn and achieve.
