I have tutored my peers throughout high school, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of mathematics with others. During high school, I scored a perfect score of 800 on both SAT II Math Level 2 and Korean. I am currently attending Normandale with a major in Liberal Arts with Emphasis in Mathematics. I hope to transfer to a 4 year university to double major in economics and mathematics.
I am very patient especially for students who learn slower than others because I was always a slow learner myself. I am very happy to repeat myself or go over other examples to help the student understand the concept. I also like to emphasize concept over memorization. Of course, math has a good amount of memorization, and yes, it is important; however, I believe that learning concept is more useful than sheer memorization, and understanding a concept is better than memorizing formulas and properties.

My comments on tutoring Geometry : For the last 12 years I have tutored children between the ages of 5 and 18 in math, algebra, and geometry.

I hold a BA in foreign languages (Spanish, English) from La Sorbonne, Paris France. As well as a Master in International Business from Paris, and an MBA in finance from the University of Illinois. I worked as a French teacher for the Berlitz School of Languages and Alliance Francaise. Most of my students were immersion students (often entire families) who planned to relocate to France, Quebec or West Africa. I have learned a great deal in this time about how to structure lessons for my students in ways that not only teach them the process of doing the work, but also the background information about why things work the way they do.
