i am self taught on computers in software and hardware. Went to ITT for 6 months to be an electrical engineer, left due to medical issues. Worked for a C.A.D distributor for over a year in the warehouse and doing repairs and upgrades. Microsoft sent a copy of windows XP before it was released to the public to help set up that operating system to work with different hardware profiles. I've been told I have a great capacity for making complex ideas more understandable. A Little Bit About Me...

After I received my degree in Elementary Education, I was a substitute teacher in IA for one year. I then worked, taught and advised at a small private college in Iowa. I have also owned and operated a daycare in my home for over three years. Currently have have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher for the Buffalo, MN school district. This is a job I love for the simple fact that I have variety everyday. It is also a great way to stay up to date on all subject matter. I am also in the process of earning my Master's Degree in Education.

When this does not work, I do not just tell the student what goes where or why this doesn't work, I give reasons and have them tell me these same reasons the next time we come across something that doesn't work.

I tend to let the student take the lead at first, and then I try to guide them through the areas they're questioning. It's like a car on a road with a new driver: the student is driving all over the road, and I need to gently urge them into the right lane (or the correct answer).
