I hold an Honour's degree (equivalent to a bachelor's degree) in Statistics. During my studies, I was a student assistant for courses in end user computer skills. I've also done one-on-one mathematics tutoring to students from grades 8 to 12 for two years. In the final year of my degree I was a junior lecturer for a semester. I taught Statistics to a class of 60 and achieved a 100% pass rate for the course.
From my experience working with learners/students in both a classroom and a one-on-one capacity, I am comfortable working in either area. At Bridgewater State College I started tutoring general chemistry and organic chemistry in the Fall of 2006. I am receiving my degree this May, and have already been accepted to a few PhD programs in chemistry. I am looking for a tutoring job or jobs for the summer, and possibly for longer. I have tutored small groups of five to eight students for chemistry. I have tutored general chemistry, organic chemistry, and chemistry in everyday life, which is a course for non-chemistry majors.
