Create/Implement lesson plans/student lEP's per state mandates SYETP(Summer Youth Employment Training Program)taught job readiness skills I worked as a Teaching Assistant with Intense Management needs program. Due to the student enrollment we actually had 1 certified teacher with 2 Teaching Assistants and one Teacher Aide. For the last 8 yrs while employed within the education field, I worked in this position.I was considered the teacher for 6-12 of the special needs students with both behavior and learning Disabilities. Writing lesson plans, grading and evaluating my students academics and ensuring they met NYS Education requirements for graduation with 5 of them getting a high school diploma the first year I taught as the teacher.

In addition, while at Cornell University I earned a Minor in Communications focusing on both Written and Oral Communication. I fundamentally believe anyone can learn. If a student isn’t grasping a concept, it just means I have to change my style of teaching. I started tutoring in 9th grade, and continued until my freshman year of college. I tutored middle school and high school students in math, sciences, and social studies. In college I tutored in Level 1 and 2 French, Psychology, and College Level Algebra. I have tutored both male and female students, and have worked with people with reading and learning disabilities.
I love working with people, and have a lot of patience. I work hard to let the student work through problems themselves before assisting them. A lot of students I have spent time with just need a small amount of encouragement and are very capable of completing their work.
