After graduating from high school as valedictorian, I earned a Zoology BS and a Studio Art BA from SUNY Oswego, successfully completing English composition, speech, visual arts, biology, zoology, chemistry, Spanish, and calculus II courses, and graduated with a 3.76 GPA. Prior, I had taken and earned over a 90% in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and AP calculus. While completing an MFA from WCSU, I began 3 years of service as a tutor with NY GEAR UP of The Research Foundation of SUNY, providing academic assistance to students, grades 9-12th in core and non-core subjects, as well as Regents, SAT, and ACT exam prep. I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. This is the essence of my teaching: helping students see the big picture so that they can handle any new scenario. My classroom always has many things going on at once, which is a direct result of the student driven learning and presenting.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and believe that all students can learn. There are many ways to interest them; and with technology, all students will research and work with language and culture. I have had great success with students on a one-to-one basis. In language learning, some students have needed out-of-class time to work privately with me. I have also advised students and interested them in doing projects for club activities.
