A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experience includes helping my peers at the University of Wyoming and duties of training petty officer in the US Navy. At UW, I tutored physics, math, and basic engineering. While getting my BS in Mechanical Engineering, I gained an extensive knowledge of the principles and practice of mathematics. I was the training petty officer both at boot camp and on my ship, FFG43. I was responsible creating lessons and giving training that resulted in improved job knowledge and increased qualifications for members of my division.
I love seeing children learn and grow. My teaching style is a whole, part, whole approach. I teach the abstract concept and then the practical application. While I believe that concrete skills and a solid base are necessary for success, I also believe that continued expansion of those skills is where the most fun parts of learning takes place. Both are necessary to balance individuals. I strive to add laughter to lessons to make them more fun and relevant for students.
