I am a former social worker, "turned teacher".

I use lesson plans and schedules left by the teacher, as well as textbooks and other materials like workbooks which are familiar to the children. I leave a written synopsis of the day for the teacher, including notes on behavioral issues or good/helpful behaviors.

My comments on tutoring Grammar : I have taught this subject at both primary and secondary levels in my school district.

Interactive modeling of examples, repetition, and simplifying subject matter are key components of my teaching style. Many students have difficulty relating to academic material due the lack being given time to practice example assignments. I also teach universal strategies of how to study material to fully understand assignments.
I have worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for the past 8 years. I am currently attending school to become a special education teacher. Depending upon the student, I vary the tutoring help. Some students are slower or faster than others; some like to play games to learn and some like step-by-step instructions. I am kind, personable, and flexible with a lot of patience. I think that is why I have been so successful.
For five years, I have tutored through the No Child Left Behind program and privately. I have tutored all subjects except science. I have tutored K-12 up to calculus. My professional background before tutoring was in banking, insurance claims, and healthcare administration. I love tutoring one on one and in small groups.
