My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Certified in Social Studies 6th-12th Grade

I believe in teaching to the student and making the subject matter relevant and easy to comprehend. I encourage dialogue an debate in order to fully engage all of my students.

Math and Business Tutor

My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Substituted in Multiple Social Studies Classes

Currently enrolled as a Substitute Teaching for the Philadelphia School District since February 2018. Tutored International for World Civilization II Class at Brookdale Community College for the Fall 2017 Semester. In Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 was involved in the evaluation of both Philadelphia and Atlantic City Pre-K Programs which included the testing of students and gathering stress data for both Teachers and Students.
I prefer a Lecture Based Style utilizing visuals such as detailed maps, art depiction of historical moments, as well as videos of First-Hand Accounts of what occurred during discussions involving modern times.

Every child can learn, just not in the same way!

I am an Elementary school teacher for 6 years. I have my BA in Psychology, from Rutgers University, and hold my teaching certificate for Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12. Prior to being a teacher, I have worked for an outreach program, working one to one with Autistic and Down Syndrome students. As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I meet the child where they are in their learning style. I can adapt to how they learn best and then use different activities and tools to again, "drive home" the concept of what the child may be struggling with. I love teaching anything!
When I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002, I accepted a job at a small school in upstate NY that needed a PE teacher. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying.
