My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : Last fall I began working with a non-profit afterschool writing program where I helped primarily 2nd-5th graders with spelling, writing and reading. In just a short time I begin to notice changes in their writing styles, spelling and reading. They begin to understand a bit more, and not become so frustrated and overwhelmed. It's a work in progress, but some of their grades have improved tremendously.

I have been writing since I was 10 years old. I have written for school papers, organized and contributed to yearbooks, performed and won oratorical writing contest. While in college I was nominated by my Creative Writing professor to become the Editor of the student literary magazine "Pegasus" at Delaware County Community College. Once I graduated from DCCC with my Associates in Communication, I transferred to Shippensburg University where I majored in Communication-Journalism and double minored in English and Women & Gender Studies. Learning Improves with Positive Reinforcement.

I have my BS in Paralegal Studies from Peirce College, with a minor in English. In 2010 I earned my Masters Degree from Drexel University in Library and Information Science. I completed several graduate level courses on youth instruction. In addition, I have mentored children and adults with ADD. At the age of 19 I was diagnosed with ADD and went through an intensive learning disability program consisting of various types of learning and processing. I would like to help children conquer the disability before they pick up bad study habits and poor self-esteem.

Every child can learn, just not in the same way!
