A Little Bit About Me...

I grew up in competitive dance and hold 3 nation titles in dance. I was a varsity cheerleader through out high school and I also attended Joffrey NYC pre professional dance program in high school. I am now in my last year at University of The Arts under the Prestigious Artist Scholarship as a Dance major. Through out college I was also a Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader and just finished up my contract with them. Aside from school and cheering I have also worked in dance studios as an instructor since 2009. I am not working as dance intern at Koresh Dance Company in Philadelphia.

I like to incorporate a sense of humor in my teaching - I believe when children can relax they are much more open to learning. I am also sensitive to children's different learning styles whether they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic, and tailor my approach accordingly. No two sessions are ever the same! Each student has unique needs and challenges and my job is to work "through the maze" and carry the message to the brain. I try to use practical and relevant examples whenever I can and appeal to the student's personal frame of reference so the goal of really "learning" versus "memorizing" can be met.

A Little Bit About Me...

The University of Delaware has integrated me into the education field with a variety of experiences. I will earn my degree in May of 2011, becoming certified in Elementary Teacher Education and Middle School Social Studies. Over the past few years, I have strengthened in my ability to work with students of diverse needs and present effective instruction for the particular learner. This increases the student's motivation and desire to learn. From the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and Italy, I was exposed to different cultures broadening my understanding of human nature.
