After receiving my college education I taught my own visual art curriculum in Western Illinois for two years. Here I worked with Elementary students and High School Students. Also, I volunteered for the Lincoln Initiative for Tutoring program where I tutored elementary students after school and served as a role model. My teaching style is about positive feedback and patience. With my experience in psychology I have found that a calm nurturing environment lends itself to bolstering understanding for children. Also, a calm environment allows a child the ability to think without excessive distraction. Everyone learns in their own personal way and as a mentor I would like to help foster that.
