I make sure that every topic that i go over is clearly understood. A clear sense of understanding can make any "boring" subject more interesting and fun to learn. I like to start with the basics of a subject and move into detail as required. If more time is needed on any one topic I am willing to go over it as many times as the student wants.
I have always enjoyed teaching. When i was in college I used to teach my juniors in subjects that they needed help in. My notes in college became very popular and are still being used today. Not every method works for every child; with one exception, patience. I demonstrate and exemplify patience. If a child feels as though they are in an atmosphere where they are safe, free of ridicule and bias, then they are willing to perform. This process can be a give take scenario however. I started my college education at Stanford University but finished up Cal State Stanislaus University with a degree in physical education and biology. I then taught primarily language arts and science at the middle school level for three years. After satisfying my educational wanderlust, I am now re-entering the educational field.
