A Little Bit About Me...

I am an Indiana State licensed Music Teacher. My style of teaching music to students meets the Indiana State Music Standards, and Gardner's 9 Intelligences including the incorporation of various learning styles to fit the needs of each individual student. Your student will become knowledgeable in music theory, including music staff, time and key signatures, rhythmic and melodic studies, dynamics, and music symbols under my tutelage. I teach proper singing and instrumental playing techniques,and proper breath support and posture. I hope to inspire each student to learn and to enjoy music as a productive pastime into adulthood.

A Little Bit About Me...

My ultimate professional goal is to become a statistics teacher at the university level. I am currently working on my MS in Applied Statistics with a SAS certification at Texas A&M, and plan to continue onto a phD. In addition, I graduated suma cum-laude from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2008 with a BS in Mathematics with a statistics concentration, and minors in Optical Engineering and Economics. During the last 6 years, I have tutored classmates and coworkers in mathematics.
Hands on, real world examples are the most effective when learning mathematics. It is very important to understand the theory behind what is calculated, in order to understand what is being done. Working lot of examples, from different points of view, and finding easy ways to sanity check your answers is also important.

I am very dedicated to whomever I am providing instruction. Their success is truly important to me. I am very thankful to all of my teachers for passing on their knowledge of music to me, and I want nothing but to do the same for someone else.
