A Little Bit About Me...

I come from a family of teachers and have always felt that teaching was one of the most important professions because it can have such a positive effect on the lives of others. I began tutoring students in math when I was in high school and found that my patience, easy-going nature, and ability to explain complex topics in simple terms made me a natural teacher. Regardless of the age or ability of my students, I have always enjoyed getting to know them as individuals, finding ways to motivate them, discovering their learning styles, and teaching them what they personally need learn in math, physics, or computer applications. Since receiving my bachelor’s degree in 2007, I have been involved in teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. I hold a certificate for teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and am currently teaching in the Adult Education Program of our local community college. I also have done English tutoring for college students who wish to improve their English skills. I also tutor students in literacy and am working towards completing a certification in phonetic reading instruction.
I believe that proficient language knowledge and use is crucial to a person’s career development and every-day communication skills. A Little Bit About Me...

Because all students learn differently, it is important for me as a teacher to get to know each student to find out what fits their needs the best. I like to offer a variety of activities that appeal to the hands-on learns, as well as kids that need visual cues. I am a patient, encouraging and energetic teacher.
