A Little Bit About Me...

As the oldest of five children, my 15+ years of tutoring experience includes helping my siblings in their homework when we were growing up. I have also taught English for two years at a private Junior/Senior girls' high school in Kyoto, Japan; mentored the English Speaking Society for the high school students; and, more recently, trained three content editors at Intel, as well as developed training classes for HP. Although I did well in math and science during my school years (my mother was a math and science teacher), I consider writing and English grammar my strengths. I teach people how to do things through a method of "learning by doing" with practical (and many times personal experience) exercises. I began tutoring as a volunteer in High School. I have since graduated Magna Cum Laude in less then 4 years earning two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. I have recently finished my first year of law school in the top 30% of the class. My experience in Political Science, Philosophy, and law have set me apart in grammar, punctuation, and both formal and creative writing. I have most recently privately tutored a high school student in English, Literature, and Writing.
I realize that each student learns differently and thus should be approached differently. My teaching style is to exert patience and positive reinforcement for each style of learning.
