Oftentimes, this means that the student takes the lead and I am there mainly to provide encouragement and structure. I try to provide a safe environment for learning. I believe there are no dumb questions and it is OK to make mistakes. I encourage students to brainstorm and think outside the box. I find that many students lack the ability to manage their time efficiently. I work with the student in developing organizational skills. I help the student set up goals with measurable objectibles so he can monitor his progress. When appropriate, I utilize contracts to assist the student in becoming accountable.
