My comments on tutoring Calculus I : I took Pre-Calculus, Survey of Calculus, Calculus /Analytical Geometry II, Calculus /Analytical Geometry III and Multi-Variable Calculus at the Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College and performed very well.

Volunteered to provide High School students with after school lessons in Geometry,Algebra, Functions, Pre Calculus. Created and managed a classroom environment in a locally deprived community. Responsible for classroom schedules, lesson plans and study material. Evaluate students to determine their strengths and weaknesses.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a doctoral candidate finishing up my third year in the Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University. My major is French, with a specialization in second language acquisition (SLA), and secondary specializations in modern French culture and French cinema. In addition to my studies, I also teach French within the Department. In my five years of experience, I have taught the first four levels of French, in addition to intensive versions that combine two of the levels together. During the summer of 2008, I taught algebra and geometry to 9th- and 10th-graders in the Upward Bound program at Columbus State. Outside of school I have been tutoring for seven years. A Little Bit About Me...

In teaching, one must realize that students learn at different rates of speed. Consequently, you need to find a pace at which the student feels comfortable. As most of my experience and interest is in mathematics, I always want to see a student be able to solve problems on their own. It's a great feeling when a student overcomes a hurdle and they realize that they can get the right answer.
In my year of graduate school I accepted a position as a teaching assistant. It was my first opportunity to stand in front of a class. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to teach and also help people in subject areas of which you have great expertise and interest. More recently, I have had vast experience working with middle-school students and am currently doing in-home tutoring. I continue to enjoy working with all types of students, especially in mathematics.
