I believe the best way to teach students any skill is to let them have hands on experience with it. As an example, in order to learn business skills, students need to practice the skills and understand their relevance in the real world.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from a Pennsylvania Systems of Higher Education college with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. The entire time I was enrolled I was a tutor in the Math Assistant Center as one of the top tutors. I was always told I should be a teacher but for now I am on a quest to get my PhD. I enjoy tutoring anywhere from beginners algebra in middle school all the way to college classes like Ordinary/Partial Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, and some physics.
Every job I've ever had has been one where I teach. I had a job 3 years teaching ballroom dance, 2 years I coached T-ball, and for 4 years I've tutored math. It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. I make sure the time and place are conducive to active and non-distractive learning. I relay the importance and relevance of the material.
