Teaching and School Counseling Services In One Place!

My style of education is to teach by modeling. Students need to see things in a step-by-step format with instructions, followed by an immediate example. I also provide sample argumentative essays for students who learn by seeing a complete model. My counseling style is to work with students, first by building a rapport and then using that as the foundation to get a feel for their college/career interests. I then look at their grades to help them build a custom transitional plan into early adulthood.
I have been a teacher for the last fifteen years. I teach social studies, but my specialization is teaching argumentative (college level) writing.I have done plenty of SAT prep and tutoring for students at the high school and college level. I have been told I have a way with words, and have become the "walking dictionary" for family and friends. A Little Bit About Me...

As a meteorologist visiting students I split my time up between lecture, group activities, visual experiments, and exciting weather video. I even had a section where the children helped me forecast and could stand in front of the camera and report the weather. I designed this lesson plan on purpose to hit on all the different learning needs of the students. During my 2 years as a substitute teacher I found interesting ways to implement these features into all lessons, and can say without a doubt I could see the difference in learning styles of the children.
