College level Chemistry Teacher / French as mother tongue

My teaching philosophy is to help students understand chemistry through four modalities: reading, listening, seeing and hands-on learning. To explain ideas in chemistry I can use various teaching aids such as 3-D models, chemistry-writing software, and visual demonstrations. I also try to relate chemistry to student’s real world experiences.
I am a part-time faculty at Robert Morris University. I have 10 years of formal experience teaching undergraduate chemistry courses in the classroom and in private both in-person and online. Beside this, I have also had experience during my research in teaching, both in one-on-one and in group settings including tutorials, meetings, seminars and conferences.

When doing problems, I usually like to ask questions that gradually lead up to the answer and establish the concepts to get to the solution. Finally, I like tutoring experiences to be fun and am not afraid to lighten the mood with occasional jokes, as it seems that this atomosphere makes students more open and excited to learn the given material.
Throughout my undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, I developed a passion for teaching and helping others achieve the ac ... read more
