I earned my BA in 2007 and I have been working in a public Montessori school since then. In addition to my current position as Technology Coordinator, I have volunteered as an Odyssey of the Mind coach and I have worked in the after school math and language tutoring program. Although this is only my fourth year working in elementary education, my prior job experience as a program director for a non-commercial college radio station required effective communication skills, patience, and an ability to work with older students. A Little Bit About Me...

I know everyone learns in different ways, so I have found the best way to make someone understand is to put it in terms of something they understand, whether it be sports, chess, movies, anything. This allows them to relate to the material much faster and retain it much longer. Once they grasp the general concept, introducing details and new ideas becomes much easier.
In high school and college, part of the community service that I performed was tutoring elementary school kids in math. My BS in finance has given me ample experience and knowledge in the field as well as improved my math and reasoning skills.
