A Little Bit About Me...

I am an Elementary Education Major at the University of Florida and have helped many students succeed in all subject areas, with a strong focus on Elementary Education. Some subjects that I particularly tutor in include: math, science, english, social studies, and language arts. I also supply a student with supplemental material I feel will help them learn better and at their own, individual pace. For instance, I believe that some students may learn better through visual exercises, and them others may learn through auditory (hearing) exercises. Either way, I try to figure out what a students learning style is and work on that with a student.

Success comes to those who don't give up

I am currently a surgical RN. I have been working in surgery for about 7 yrs. I circulate, scrub, and assist surgeons in surgery. Prior to this I was a neuro trauma nurse for a big trauma hospital in Florida where I dealt with head, back, neck trauma and stroke and seizure patients. Anatomy is one of my top subjects! With Biology being one of my Top Subjects it is easy to understand why Anatomy is as well. Anatomy and Biology go hand in hand together in the sense of how cells and the body works. I am able to lead students through an adventure of the body starting from the cell to all the functions of the body.

My teaching style is very student-centered and patient. My students say I make biology and science in general seem easy. I break complicated material into small easy-to-understand pieces. My teaching style can be described sometimes as "hands off." I prefer for the students to try a task or problem first and then be critiqued on how to correctly perform it.
