My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I can teach English as a second language to people that speak Russian, Italian, or French as a native language.

I had a position as an English Teacher at University in Belarus. I tought English as a foreign language to university students. My students that I had were between the ages of 17 through 22 years of age and I tought levels 1 through 5. I also had positions as an Interpreter for companys in Belarus, Italy, Holland and Great Britain.

English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I've taught English as a second language for over 10 years. Most of my experience in this field was gained while I lived in Milan, Italy and where I offered General and/or Business English to individuals and groups of all abilities and sizes.

After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Business Management/Marketing, I set out for Milan, Italy and immediately found work teaching English and Business English there. I taught all ages (from 6 to 60), both individual lessons within the homes of the students or at my home, or individual and group lessons within big companies. One of my biggest clients was UPS Italia where I sometimes taught for seven to eight hours a day. After doing this for seven years, I found a job within a publishing house based in Milan. I eventually became the International Sales Manager there, and I still work for this company on a freelance basis doing translations and sales. I currently work from home as a writer, translator, and tutor.
It depends on the subjects I'm teaching and the needs of the students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I develop individualized lesson plans. Ten years ago my student was a Chinese man who spoke Mandarin at home and did not have a job where verbal English was demanded of him. I taught him all the words for objects inside the house, how to navigate inside a grocery store, how to use the yellow pages phone book, and eventually helped him successfully study for the US Citizenship test. My last student (2008) was an adult male from Mexico who came to the U.S. for work. His education level was less than 8th grade, and his speaking skills and ability to sound out words was elementary-school level. I kept the content of material at an adult level, but taught him skills in sounding out words and how to decompose sentence phrases and word beginnings and word endings in order to read words.
