I have tutored in the Public Schools for many years while my children were young. As a young teen I even graded papers for teachers who were not associated with my school district. I enjoy teaching and get great satisfaction from the success when a student gets it! I home schooled my middle child when she became too ill to attend school on a regular basis. My method for her taught her to be very responsible. Upon graduation she had better self confidence and had a 4.0 in college and successfully completed her degree. College educated years of experience with "At Risk" students

Besides my degree in BioChemistry I have also completed minors in cellular/molecular biology, and art. While studying at Albion college I worked on two separate college funded research teams as well as worked as a TA with large groups of students as well as small groups. After graduation I worked at a public high school in Flint, Michigan as an at risk interventionalist. This involved working specifically in science classrooms with at risk students as well as working in my own classroom either one on one or in small groups.
I believe that every student I have ever worked with has been more than capable of understanding and excelling at whatever material we are working on. Of the many occupations I have held, teaching at a small college was the most rewarding. Many of my former students have maintained contact through the years and more than a few have achieved high recognition in their respective fields of Physics, Engineering, and Education. I have found no one teaching style is appropriate for the student. While at the small teachers college, I developed a non rigorous intuitive approach to Mathematics instruction as the majority of students had a very limited math background.
