I believe that all children should learn no matter what their ability or disability may be. There should be passionate teachers in the field to be able to take on the responsibility of helping children reach their full potential. As an educator, I nurture my students and provide an emotionally, stable atmosphere while maintaining high expectations for all. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education. I actually believe that having the ability to teach is a gift, and that Learning occurs from a variety of experiences and explorations. I generally use a teacher-centered approach to teaching; however, there are other times that I prefer to use a learner-centered approach as to meet the needs of my students and their learning styles. I often use a variety of teaching methods such as: group learning, peer review, role modeling, visual aids/hands-on, and mapping.
