A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in History/English from the University of Mississippi. I have been a teacher for the past year in Tate County Mississippi. This experience has allowed me to develop a teaching style to reach all types of learners. I have also been a tutor in English on a senior level. I have training with children of all learning styles. I believe children learn by experiences and examples. Making it relevant and interesting makes them to want to learn. They begin to understand the purpose for learning the material. Children have different learning styles and every child doesn't learn at the same rate. Teachers must realize this when planning lessons. Students need to know that to have the basics such as a home, a car and food for their family, they need an education. Kids don't think about the future and how their decisions will determine the rest of their lives. By helping them to set goals for themselves, they will strive to do their best and begin to realize that they can learn.

In Teaching students of all races and nationalities over the past 28 years the rewards have been fantastic. Teaching History for 21 years, Special Education, Severe Profound, and GED. My track record has been excellant. I feel that all students can learn. In public education today I feel students are more than just test scores. Each student is an individual with individual needs with different modes of learning. Parental help is critical.
