i had a lot of tutoring experience. I worked as a 2nd grade teaching assistant in an elementary school in Worcester, MA. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with students of all ages, but I especially like middle school ages. All students learn in different ways, and I have used many techniques with public school students as well as with my own children. I believe everyone needs to have the skills to research and test out their ideas.
I taught learning disabled/emotionally handicapped middle school students for 7 years. I have about 3 years experience tutoring students of all ages. A Little Bit About Me...

Learning must be fun, especially in a tutoring context. In my previous tutoring experiences, I always attempted to turn tasks into games or opportunities for creative expression. For example, multiplication tables can become an opportunity to play a relay game. Learning different parts of speech can be made enjoyable by creating an imaginative story. My particular interest is helping children develop a passion for creative writing and reading. These were essential elements of my own childhood and my development as a writer, and I'm excited to share this experience with others.
After graduating with honors from Grove City College, I took a position as a writer for a large nonprofit organization in Washington, DC. While working as a professional writer, I dedicated my free time to tutoring at a center for urban kids.
