Since graduating from the University of Albuquerque, I have worked in the New Mexico Governor's Office and been a guide for a Santa Fe outdoor museum. I also worked at the History Library, which is part of the Museum of New Mexico's Palace of the Governors Museum. In 1993, I was trained in English as a Second Language by Literacy Volunteers of America. I taught English in Japan in 1995. I volunteered as a teacher with the Emily Griffith Opportunity School's ESL program for three years. I have had numerous private ESL students over the past 17 years.
