My teaching style is progressive. I believe education should be entertaining, however not entertainment. I enjoy challenging my students, however to do this effectively it is important that they remain engaged. One of the ways in which I do this is to encourage students to think creatively. Creativity is the key to success with education. Not only does it foster confidence and positive self-esteem, creativity keeps the brain on its toes, so to speak, by continually challenging students’ abilities and forcing students to expand beyond their academic comfort zone. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in architecture which allowed me to be very understanding of math and science while also gaining a strong inclination to creativity. I taught swimming lessons and tennis lessons to children for five years and I previously worked at a summer day camp for kids ages 3-13. I am CPR and Red Cross certified, and I have a great passion for working with children. I took advanced placement English and math classes in high school and in college I used my electives towards classes such as creative writing, economics, psychology, and education classes. As I complete my teaching certification and masters of education at UNLV, I hope to help children through school by becoming a tutor.

A Little Bit About Me...

I thoroughly enjoy working with the elderly population and children as well. If given the opportunity, I would prefer to work with older clientel. I am a very patient, and reserved person when it comes to teaching others new skills. I have realized that not every individual will learn at the same pace or have the success rate as others. It is important to take each person on a individual basis, and if we work together we will meet the goals that are wanted by both of us.
